About Arcade Whale

Arcade Whale (also written ArcadeWhale) is a free browser game site: 107 hand-made games you can play instantly on desktop, tablet or phone — no downloads, no sign-up, no waiting. Every title runs right in the browser tab you already have open, and every game here is designed and built in-house by a small independent team.

Browse by mood — 5-minute fun, brain benders, adrenaline, just relax — or by category. Your progress is saved on this device, so you can pick up where you left off from the Continue Playing shelf. New games land regularly; the New Games shelf and the full catalog always show the latest.

Questions and answers

Are the games on Arcade Whale free?

Yes. Every game is free to play in full, with nothing to buy and no premium version. Advertising is what keeps it that way.

Do I need to download anything or create an account?

No. Every game runs in your browser tab: pick one and it starts. There is no installer, no launcher and no sign-up.

Can I play on my phone, tablet or Chromebook?

Yes. The games work with touch on phones and tablets and with a keyboard and mouse on computers, Chromebooks included. Each game page lists its controls under "How to play".

Is my progress saved?

Yes, in your own browser on this device: levels, high scores, streaks and settings are kept there, with no account. Weekly leaderboard scores are also sent to us so the boards can rank them. To carry your progress to another device, use Transfer your progress: it packs everything into a one-time code that our server keeps for 15 minutes. Clearing your browser data for this site resets it.

Who makes the games on Arcade Whale?

Every game here is designed and built in-house by a small independent team. We do not license a ready-made catalogue and we do not host uploads from other developers, so every game you play here was made by us.

How often are new games added?

Regularly. A new game shows up on the New Games shelf and in Fresh Arrivals as soon as it is published, and the full catalogue always has the latest.
